A new album added - SD70ACe locos on Marias Pass 3.1 taken May 2007 during an intermodal run from Shelby to Whitefish (as far as Cutbank - oops, path yet to be fixed after derailment) and an intermodal run from Whitefish to Shelby (not completed as yet - having a "rest" at Summit).

Location Blogger + MSTS + Spaces

I've added some screenshots that I've taken on various trips across Marias Pass, and added a map to each location using the Blog a Place at Sean Blagsvedt's Location Blogger (which uses the Virtual Earth maps).

Now go to Location Blogger and use the Load from a Space function and enter webdottrainsim for the SpaceID.

The Scratchpad will load with the first five entries from here (seems Sean has restricted his code to just five) which contain a map link at his Location Blogger. Simply click on any of the five screenshots and Virtual Earth will pan to that location on the map.

How's that, eh!

Maria Wood's Pass

The August issue of Trains (www.trainsmag.com) has a story about Lewis and Clark's epic exploratory journey across Montaina.

Meriweather Lewis named the pass after his cousin, Maria Wood. Supposedly, then, the pass was originally named Maria's Pass and through use, has become Marias Pass.

So that solves a problem for webDotTrainSim who has wondered for about three years how to pronounce the name of this awesome pass.
